2025 was an interesting year of ups and downs, but through it all, you helped us have a very successful year. Before we get to the numbers, we wanted to share the story of the year.
You Saved Her Life – December 2025
We have a client who is confined to a wheelchair with no family, friends, or even an emergency contact. She is fiercely independent and resilient, but lately she had been in and out of the hospital.
Just before Christmas, it happened. Our driver noticed she wasn’t coming to the door. She missed a meal and we were going into a long holiday weekend. The driver notified client services who attempted to call her. We left her a couple of messages. She normally has a good history of getting back to us, even when she is in the hospital, but we did not hear back from her this time.
Client Services decided to contact the City of Boulder Police for a non-emergency wellness check. The officer dispatched called us and said they took her to the hospital. He said, “You saved her life. This call saved her life!”
We are happy to report she is now safe at home, and we are keeping a close eye on her.
It is what we do. We, our donors, volunteers, staff, and board, are the support system they need when they are alone and vulnerable. Together, we save lives.
